3 Ways to Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions

  1. Set a specific goal: When we are too vague (“I want to lose weight.”), it’s difficult to measure. We are more likely to stick to working towards a goal when we believe its obtainable. “I want to lose 10 lbs in the next 2 months.”
  2. Identify steps to achieving your goal: Make a plan. Be specific. (I will walk 30 minutes a day or go to the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.) If you have a plan, you are more likely to stick with it. If you make a blank statement like, “I need to exercise,” its less likely to happen.
  3. Acknowledge your achievements: Its important to recognize what you have accomplished. Don’t minimize your success! Celebrate it!
